1. Information We Collect

Orbit Academic is committed to protecting student, parent, and teacher privacy. We collect minimal information necessary to deliver academic management, assignment pushes, and grade tracking:

• ✓ Account Data: Display name, email address, selected role (Student, Parent, or Teacher/Admin), and Lemon Squeezy license activation status.
• ✓ Academic Data: Course names, assignment titles, due dates, sub-tasks, gradebook entries, scheduled release times, and teacher feedback notes.
• ✓ Organization Identifiers: Multi-tenant school organization IDs and family linking codes.

2. Multi-Tenant School Data Isolation

Orbit Academic enforces multi-tenant security architecture under organizations/{orgId}. Data belonging to one school, district, or company is strictly isolated from all other organizations. Students and staff from School A cannot view, query, or cross-access any coursework or user data from School B.

3. Parent Oversight & Family Code Privacy

Parent access is strictly read-only and requires explicit linking via a unique FAM- Family Code generated by the student or school administrator. Parents can inspect cumulative GPA, completion rates, overdue item warnings, and teacher praise notes for their linked children only.

4. Local Storage & 5-Minute Cloud Synchronization

Your workstation stores local state for offline access. Every 5 minutes, Orbit Academic synchronizes pending assignment updates, class submissions, and grade entries with encrypted cloud storage via Firestore. All telemetry and data in transit use TLS 1.3 encryption.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion Rights

You maintain 100% ownership of your academic records. You may export a complete JSON backup of your classes, assignments, and grades at any time in Settings → Data, or request total account wipe and data purge by contacting support.
